and we are off

I wondered how I would fit this (writing in this space) into the craziness that is currently my life. I love to write. I love to inspire. I know I can’t be the only one who wonders how they will get it all done this week. Joe and I have big goals. I know we are simply in a season that is very needed. One day, we will be tending to our garden, drinking coffee on the front porch, wondering what day of the week it is. Not today. Our alarms went off at 4:30am, Joe is at the gym, I have blankets in the washer, it is Monday, the schedule is full.

A few things to look forward to if you are also in this season. One, systems work. I will be sharing exactly how. How to organize that drawer, that closet, that room…so that you can move through your full days and not let the physical clutter slow you down.

I need ways to mentally move through life with a full schedule. Next week is insane. Insane. When I peek at the calendar for next week my whole body tenses. That is not good. I’ll share ways I mentally talk my nervous system down. One coping mechanism is prayer. When I feel my heart rate go crazy, I will say a Hail Mary. I have tangible things I do as well.

The holidays are over, the new year is well underway, our schedules are not changing. As a full time working mom of 4 (with a part time job) and a husband who works 12 hour days…I have to be very intentional of every hour. (I mentioned before, I will even break things down into 15 minute tasks). I know I am not the only one. I do not just muddle through it, I actually have a plan and practices to make it work. After 15 months of this “new” life, these practices are proven.
