I think we can all agree that this is unlike any other event our country has every experienced in hundreds of years. Yet, here we are experiencing it and every passing hour we are shocked at what is unfolding. As soon as Austin canceled the largest event that they put on I was like oh crap here we go. I get it. I get why we need to stay home. I get why we need to make it as hard as possible for this virus to stay with us.
Who else thought 2020 was going to be there year! The year you get out of debt, the year you make big decisions, the year you change the trajectory of your life? I did. And I refuse to give up. I still do.
The financial implications of all this is massive. Massive. People are going to stop spending money on non-necessities. I know we are. People are going to lose their jobs. People are going to dig into their savings. People are going to go into debt. The burden is heavy. It makes me sad.
I keep thinking…of course the year I decide to start a small business and jump…this happens. Will you still want your home organized? Will you be spending money on that service? Or are you cutting it down to the bare minimum?
So many lessons will be learned over the next few months. My main lesson is that I was not prepared. I hate not being prepared. Which is why I love organizing so much. It makes me feel prepared. It makes me feel like I have a plan. You should see my camping spreadsheet. It is broken out into categories of where we are going and the list of things we need.
I am staying the course. Maybe with people home more they will actually have time to work on spaces in their houses. Maybe with wellness being at the forefront of everyone’s minds they will want to get their Young Living Essential Oil starter kits and start ordering products at wholesale pricing. Maybe. We were given a ground of unknown and a lot more free time than we ever expected. How we react, respond, and navigate this will show what we are made of.
Over the next few days and maybe weeks…use the time. Don’t waste it. Use it to do things you have been putting off. Make a list everyday of 3 things you can do with the extra time you may now have.
Keep the faith and stay hopeful.
